Samaritan Love Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry is located at 124 West Elm Street, Kokomo, IN. Lead by Loren Sitzes & Carolyn Browning. Our volunteers serve on Wednesdays at 9:00-11:00 am. Participants are allowed to receive a one box at this location per month.
We also host at a mobile food pantry at our church campus, 3401 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN. It is available on the 1st and 5th Thursday of each month from 1:00-3:00 pm. Participants are allowed to visit this food giveaway each Thursday at a different location around Kokomo.
Sunday Evening Family Hour
Our family hour is held every Sunday night at 5:30 pm (except for holiday weekends). The entire church is invited to come out weekly and join us in a time for the entire family. We have classes for all ages, with dinner being served to the kids before their class. Our children’s classes are broken into age group for a time that kids love! Our youth group, DRIVEN Youth Ministry, also has their very own services with youth lead worship and a sermon by our youth pastors and their team. Our adults meet in the sanctuary for services and bible study times. We look forward to you being a part of this time!
Woodland Church of God has several options and a class for every age group! Sunday School classes are held on Sundays at 9:30 am. During Morning worship, we have a nursery for 0-2, and Children’s Church for kids ages 3-12. Our Children’s pastors are Gene & Kristina Atyeo. On Sunday night, we have a family training hour from 5:30-7:00 pm. During this time, a wide variety of age appropriate clubs and classes take place. All of these programs are lead and directed by our children’s program director, Tammy Alley.
Driven Youth Ministry
Lead by Pastors Dylan & Candice Coston. The youth ministry meets on Sundays at 5:30pm for their youth lead and focused worship service. The group is designed for teenagers in 6th– 12th grades. They have all types of events and activities such as concerts, Winterfest, and Church of God summer camp. They also have a Sunday School class at 9:30 am on Sundays.
Lead by Sister Tammy Alley. Our ladies ministry does several things together such ladies retreats, ladies tea, and monthly Bible studies. All events will be posted to the calendar.
Lead by Jeremy Hook. Our men’s ministry meets monthly (see below). Our special events include, but are not limited to: Men’s conferences, fishing and hunting days, and camping weekends. We will do anything that brings the men of the Church together while helping each other grow in knowledge and in love.
Our Motto:Arming ourselves with the Word of God, lifting up the Name of Jesus, and Lifting up one another.
Monthly Meetings: Once a month for Bible study. Coffee and Donuts. Every third month we have our carry in fellowship breakfast with guest speaker, testimonies, praises , prayer requests, and fellowship.
Labor Initiative: Men can be invited to stay after to volunteer for handy projects; this can be done in house, or out in the community as an outreach, or to grow the church.
Our Curriculum: Holy Bible, A man after God’s own heart by Jim George book & devotional.
Armor Up Challenge: one year Bible reading calendar.
CONNECT (adults 19-30)
Lead by Pastor Teddy and his team. This is an activity based ministry for our young adults, college age and beyond. It is designed for ages 19-30. They get together once a month for fun and fellowship with activities such as bowling, scavenger hunts, movie and game nights, and more. They also do periodic group Bible studies. Our goal: To CONNECT young adults to the Word, to the call of God, and to the mission of Woodland Church of God.
This is a group who meets to help with the planning of special events and outreach events for Woodland. The design of the team is find new ways and improve old ways of bringing new people into our church. Their meetings are scheduled according to the proximity of the events they are planning. They are always looking for new ideas and ways to get more people involved. Meeting will be posted to the calendar.
We have an active bus ministry just waiting to be filled with families interested in coming to church! Simply, call in to the church office at 765-453-5673. Please call by Saturday at noon, leave a message with the following information: name, number needing a ride, pickup address, and which service you’d like to attend. Pick up times are for before Sunday School at 9:30, and then we also offer a pick up our Family Training Hour at 5:30pm
